FOAD THANKS

Sara would like to thank the following for their help and support of this show:

AJ Demers ('cause he's awsome and had to hear these bad poems hundreds of times), Wendy Gorling (for movement coaching), Paul, Rohel, Zack and Anthony (for letting me read their boy angst), J. Burman (for song inspiration), Joleen Sadler (for years of support/ pep talks), Laura Ross (for helping SM), Emily Cain (who provided the reason to do the Toronto Fringe with her wedding in July), the Corriea-Damude family (for opening up their house to me), my family (for their endless love and support), everyone who ever attended a teen angst night, The Flava, James, my high school boyfriend, and any one who ever loved or hated me.

Halfway to Heaven in a Box

Scorpion's tail stings my mind,
this pain so similar to love unkind.
Feeling useless within my brain,
I am cutting open an empty vein.
My feet are cold without my socks,
floating to heaven inside this box.

Who Am I?

I am death.
Impetuous disease.
The blood of thousands foregone
course through my veins.
I see only the pity of nations,
the sorrow of the world,
and the sadness of man.
My skin never feels
the warmth of the sun.
Nor do my eyes see
the light of day.
There is only blackness before me,
and my soul yearns for freedom.
